Annual Show Call for entries!

Best of the show will be awarded ' Artist of the Year' This year you could be the one

Winning entries will receive total Rs: 45,000 /- worth cash prize + Vouchers

We will display shortlisted artworks at Venkatappa Art Gallery (VAG), Bangalore for 5 days.

Show Dates: 17th Jan- 21st Jan 2020

1.     Categories for competition:

•       Bird Category        - Artworks with Indian Birds
•             Mammal Category - Artworks with Indian Mammals
•        Miniature                   - Small scale artworks (Only for Adults)
•        Open Category          - Insects, Butterfly, Flora, Reptiles, Amphibians, freshwater and marine life
•   Student Category  - For kids below 18 age group (Birds, Mammals, Landscape, Insects, Butterfly, Flora, Reptiles, Amphibians) 

2.     Entry fee:

•      Online non re-fundable entry fee of Rs.2000/- per artist (>18years) for a maximum of five large-scale artworks
•        Additional Rs.1000/- per participant for 5 Miniature artworks(>18years-Optional)  
•       Student Category: Online non re-fundable entry fee of Rs.1000/- for a maximum of five large-scale artworks

3.     Size and format of artworks:

• Submit High resolution photographed images of the artworks online. Images must be of 300 dpi.
•  Please ensure that each painting entry is clearly provided with:

o   Artist name in full

o   Age (if under 18)

o   Title of the painting

o   Medium (e.g. Watercolors, acrylic, etc)

o   Category

o   Size including the frame in inches

o Students have to email a scanned copy of their student id card with their entries

·         For Large scale artworks:

o   Minimum size of artwork without frame should be 11x14 inches and

o   Maximum size not more than 4x4 feet 

·         For Miniature artworks:

o   Maximum size not more than10 inches including the frame

·         Participants are requested to adhere to the sizes provided and any variation in sizes will lead to rejection 

•      Incomplete entries will be disqualified

4.     General guidelines:

•        Deadline for online submission is 24th November 2019.
•         The artwork must not have won any prize in any other competition anywhere in the world, or been previously published in print media.
•      The artwork must have been created within last three years and be an original work.
•      You must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of all artwork entered, OR if your work is copied from a photograph(s) that is/are not your own, you must have sole permission in writing from the copyright owner to use his/her work.
•   We might ask for reference images from which the artworks were made if your artworks get short listed
• Source material or proof of permission to use must be made available on request by the judges. AWN does not accept any liability in the publication of unlawfully reproduced art.
•  Copies of published photographs or paintings are not eligible
• All artworks must be of subjects of wildlife and/or nature. Artworks of domestic, captive or feral animals and cultivated plants will not be accepted.
• Wild mammals, birds, freshwater and marine life, invertebrates and wildflowers are acceptable subjects Malpractice in making art, if found during the course of submission of artworks, example digital manipulation and painting over photographs, etc. No explanation will be provided and that artist would be banned from submitting artworks for a year in of AWN art shows

·        We cannot be accept original paintings during selection

·     Mobile photographs of artworks for selection will be straight away rejected. Only entries sent to the below email id will be considered for the show. All other communication will happen only through email. Please avoid sending entries on facebook,whatsapp and other media platforms. 

· All entries and artwork must be submitted online to artistsforwildlifenature@gmail.com 

·  Jury's decision on selection of artworks is final, no further queries on the selection process is encouraged no further reviews of artworks are entertained

·    To win the Artist of the year award, it is mandatory all 10 works get selected. Based on the overall rating we announce this award.

5.     Guidelines for selected entries:

•      Artist is responsible for the transportation of their respective artworks to and from the venue
•      For artists living outside Bangalore, selected artworks need to reach us by end       of December 2019 and artists to bear shipping cost.
•         Kindly email the entries to artistsforwildlifenature@gmail.com with a                    screen shot of online transfer.
•      Transfer the money to the account below:

o   Rs.2000 for large format works (Rs.1000 for students)

o   Rs.3000 if you wish to submit both Large and Miniature format works. (Applicable only for artists  >18 years)
